Jace Roque, an acclaimed soloist and star, is on a hot streak. His prior single, “Trust,” is his fourth consecutive track to hit 1 million views on Facebook. He is likewise one of the contenders for ‘People’s Voice Favorite Male Artist’ in the forthcoming 35th Awit Awards, which will be held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater on November 23rd.
Coming off his achievements, Jace has discharged his fourth and last single off of his approaching mini collection, “Inferno.” “Back to the Beginning” is about his difficulties while growing up, and the difficulty of satisfying the desires of those he loves. Despite the tropical pop and future bass components of the tune, it addresses the anguish and confusion of not meeting the assumptions of those around him.
He stated that even though his song contains an upbeat atmosphere, the words are actually conveying a more sorrowful and disheartening message. He believes that the juxtaposition of the two is particularly important for his songs, as he strives for a harmonious equilibrium between the cheerful and the melancholic.
His upcoming mini album ‘Inferno’, which is dropping this December, includes songs that continue to share Jace’s journey in love, family, and career. His songs usually convey a relatable lesson, and ‘Back to the Beginning’ is no different. “With this new single, I want the listeners to realize that it’s not a crime to pursue what you really want and deviate from what your parents have laid out for you. Doing so doesn’t make you bad, rebellious, or ungrateful.”
He also emphasized on the idea of following your dreams. “You have to take ownership of your life and follow your heart and aspirations. Living a life that’s not your own only leads to misery. Not having the liberty to choose will slowly eat you up, until you don’t even know who you are anymore.”
It had been two years since Jace had the opportunity to do any live promotions, but this year he was able to get back on stage and begin the process of marketing his much-loved single ‘Trust’. He expressed that when he went to the ABS-CBN PIE Channel, it was like coming home, and being in the radio booth at 97.9 Home Radio had the same feeling. These were the types of experiences he had been so desperately missing.
Now that health restrictions are starting to loosen, Jace is hoping to be able to go on TV and radio tours to promote his songs. Additionally, he is in talks for some acting roles, but his fans will have to wait a bit longer before any of it is officially confirmed. At the moment, he is concentrating on crafting music that his fans will relate to. He is also releasing a mini album titled ‘Inferno’ which will include updated versions of the four singles he released this year, with subtle improvements and some technical adjustments.
In 2023, Jace is already in the process of producing his first complete record, titled ‘Paradiso’. The album takes its inspiration from Dante Alighieri’s renowned poem, the Divine Comedy. At this point, he can only give a small hint of what’s to come, but he is expecting his fans to show the same enthusiasm for the ‘Inferno’ project as they did for his individual songs.
