As part of the Dubai Comedy Festival, Alex Calleja and his group, The Comedy Crew, are set to make history by bringing the first-ever stand-up comedy show in Filipino to Dubai. Alongside Israel Buenaobra, Jeps Gallon, and Mak Navares, Alex aims to entertain and uplift the spirits of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who may be feeling homesick.

The decision to perform in Tagalog comes from the group’s online audience, many of whom have expressed a preference for their Filipino-language content. With the live show, Alex and The Comedy Crew hope to provide a sense of comfort and familiarity for OFWs who miss hearing Tagalog in their everyday lives.

In addition to this groundbreaking performance, Alex and The Comedy Crew will also become the first full-blooded Pinoy comedians to take the stage at Dubai Opera. This presents a unique opportunity for them to showcase the distinct style of Filipino comedy to a global audience.
