FEU to Celebrate 96th Anniversary with Free Kundiman Concert

FBB presents classic Philippine art songs at the FEU Auditorium

In celebration of the 96th anniversary of Far Eastern University and the 75th year of the FEU Auditorium, the FBB is set to perform a selection of classic Kundiman or Philippine art songs with a special concert entitled “Ang Tangi Kong Ikaw” on May 4th at 6:00 PM.

The concert promises to be a nostalgic journey through the past decades of renowned Filipino music. Admission is free, so mark your calendars and join us for this unforgettable musical experience.

Last year, the band presented their rendition of famous songs by the renowned British band, The Beatles, in a concert titled “Let It BEatles!”

This year, they will showcase their interpretation of several Kundiman under the supervision of their Artistic Director, Mr. Norberto Cads, Jr., an artist with extensive knowledge of bamboo music who has participated in various international expositions and festivals together with the Banda Kawayan Pilipinas.

Members of the FBB from various Institutes of the University have come together to prepare the musical pieces for this concert. They have been rehearsing for at least 12 hours a week, throughout the year.

The selected student members are all non-music majors. They are students in Nursing, Psychology, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Tourism, Communication, Architecture, Marketing, Business, and Accountancy programs.

The FBB will also be joined on stage by Mr. Jhon Mark Isla, one of the FCA’s Pillars and an alumnus of the FEU Drum and Bugle Corps (2018), and Mr. Koowie Relevo, the current Assistant Artistic Director of the FEU Drum and Bugle Corps (2017).
