Filipino-Thai Horror Film ‘Kuman Thong’ Set to Haunt Cinemas

A Mother’s Desperate Journey Takes a Sinister Turn

A mother’s grief turns into horror in ‘Kuman Thong,’ a chilling tale inspired by Thai mythology. The film, set to hit cinemas this July 3, follows Clara (Cindy) as she embarks on a journey to reconnect with her deceased son, leading her down a path filled with dark spirits and sinister secrets.

Starring a talented cast of Filipino and Thai actors, including Cindy Miranda, Max Nattapol Diloknawarit, Jariya Therakaosal, Emman Esquivel, and Althea Ruedas, ‘Kuman Thong’ promises to deliver spine-tingling scares and heart-pounding moments.

Director Xian Lim’s vision for the film is clear – to capture the authenticity of Thai mythology and bring to life the terrifying tradition behind the Golden Young Boy. As Clara’s encounters with the supernatural escalate, audiences will be taken on a thrilling ride filled with suspense and unexpected twists.

‘Kuman Thong’ is Xian’s first full-length horror film as a director, though it is not his first foray into a role behind the scenes. He made his directorial debut in the thriller ‘Tabon,’ which was part of Cinemalaya Film Festival in 2019. Last year, his comedy movie featuring Janno Gibbs and Benjie Paras, Hello, Universe! hit the Philippine theaters

Thai actor Max, the film’s leading man, shared that it was “a pleasure” to share the screen with beauty queen-turned-actress Cindy for his first Filipino movie project. Max is known for his Thai projects such as ‘Manner of Death’ and ‘Bangkok Love Stories: Innocence’, while Cindy was part of the films ‘Martyr or Murderer’ and ‘Reroute.’

Get ready to be gripped by terror in a spine-chilling movie experience that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Witness the power of the ‘Kuman Thong’ when it hits cinemas nationwide on July 3.
