An initiative by Maynilad Water Services to recognize the best in cleanliness, accessibility, and eco-friendliness across the nation.

The Oro Inodoro Awards, an esteemed annual campaign backed by Maynilad Water Services, Inc., is set to shine a light on the best public restrooms across the Philippines. Launching this year’s campaign, event organizers aim to elevate awareness surrounding the significance of clean and accessible comfort rooms while encouraging organizations to showcase their commitment to maintaining hygienic facilities.
Since its inception in 2016—originally known as the Golden Kubeta Awards—the Oro Inodoro Awards have recognized establishments that excel not only in aesthetic appeal but also in responsible restroom management. This year, three main categories will be highlighted: Commercial and Retail, Offices and Schools, and Parks and Terminals. Each category’s winners will take home P10,000, while one overall winner will receive an impressive P30,000 prize.
Beyond recognizing excellence in cleanliness and design, the awards emphasize sustainability practices that protect community health. “A good public restroom isn’t just about how it looks; it’s about responsible wastewater management and accessibility for all,” stated a spokesperson from Maynilad Water Services.
Additionally, two national awards—the Banyo ng Bayan (People’s Choice Award) and Banyo Para Sa Lahat (Inclusive Restroom Award)—will honor facilities that stand out on a larger scale. The former will be determined through social media engagement, while the latter will focus on inclusive features catering to marginalized groups like differently-abled individuals. Winners of these awards will also receive P10,000 each.
“Access to a clean restroom is a public good, and at its core are proper wastewater management and environmental care and responsibility,” said Marie Antonette De Ocampo, SAVP and Head of Maynilad’s Corporate Affairs and Communication. “Through Oro Inodoro Awards, we hope to encourage creativity and invigorate establishments who put in the effort to better serve the public through well-designed restrooms.”
Nominations for the contest are done online through the Kubeta PH Facebook page. All Facebook users may nominate entries by commenting on the official Facebook post of the photo of the establishment’s restroom. Nominees must identify the restroom’s location, why it deserves to win, and use the hashtag #KubetaPH #OroInodoroAwards.
Nominations are open until October 6.
