Regal Entertainment Launches New Films in Honor of its Iconic Legacy

Roselle and Keith Monteverde Lead the Charge into a New Era of Innovative Filmmaking

Regal Entertainment, the Philippines’ oldest and most iconic film production company, recently held a grand event at 38 Valencia Events Place to celebrate its rich history and legacy in filmmaking. The “Regal Legacy” event marked over six decades of excellence, underlining the studio’s commitment to producing compelling Filipino stories while unveiling an exciting new chapter in its journey with the introduction of Roselle Monteverde as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and Keith Monteverde as Executive Vice President (EVP).

Founded in 1962 by Mother Lily Y. Monteverde and Father Leonardo “Remy” Monteverde, Regal Entertainment began as a distributor of foreign films before boldly transitioning into production with its first Filipino film, Magsikap: Kayod sa Araw, Kayod sa Gabi, in 1976. This pivotal decision laid the groundwork for Regal’s transformation into a powerhouse of Filipino cinema, best known for iconic franchises such as Shake, Rattle & Roll and Mano Po.

The event featured a moving tribute to the late Mother Lily, whose visionary contributions have greatly influenced the Philippine film industry. Attendees were treated to a visual journey through Regal’s history, with a special presentation honoring her legacy through clips from her most iconic films and the unveiling of the Regal Legacy wall.

As part of the celebration, guests witnessed the unveiling of three highly anticipated film projects: Guilty Pleasure, a social romantic drama; My Future You, a romantic comedy with a sci-fi twist; and Untold, a psychological horror thriller. Each film showcases Regal’s dedication to exploring diverse genres and themes that resonate with audiences.

With its new leadership at the helm, Regal Entertainment is set to continue its tradition of excellence while paving the way for innovative filmmaking that honors its storied past. The commitment to storytelling remains strong, ensuring that Regal’s cinematic legacy will endure for generations to come. As Roselle and Keith Monteverde lead the charge into this new era, they have reaffirmed their dedication to continuing Mother Lily’s vision by donating P1 million to the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation (MOWELFUND), emphasizing their commitment to the industry and its workforce.

In essence, the Regal Legacy event wasn’t just a celebration of the past; it was a bold statement about a future filled with creativity and innovation, as Regal Entertainment prepares to write its next chapter in Philippine cinema.
