BingoPlus endorser, Piolo Pascual joins DigiPlus President and BingoPlus Foundation
chairman Andy Tsui, DigiPlus Director and AB Leisure Exponent President Jasper Vicencio
and DigiPlus Vice President and BingoPlus Foundation COO Celeste Jovenir in announcing
the Foundation’s beneficiaries across Negros Occidental during BingoPlus Day in Bacolod.

In a vibrant celebration of culture and community, DigiPlus and its philanthropic arm, BingoPlus Foundation, launched a series of impactful initiatives during the MassKara Festival last October 20, 2024, in Bacolod City. The Foundation committed to delivering a total of Php3 million in grants focused on enriching education, improving healthcare, and revitalizing indigenous livelihoods across Negros Occidental.

One of the standout initiatives includes a Php500,000 grant awarded to the Cadiz Public Library for the implementation of robotics and programming kits. This initiative aims to empower local youth with technological skills essential for the future. Among the beneficiaries is Angeline, a talented Grade 12 student and National Science and Technology Fair 2024 Top Finalist, who aspires to innovate with her prototypes for a mini weather system and a breast cancer detection machine. The investment not only inspires creativity but also nurtures inventors who can contribute significantly to their communities.

The Cadiz Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office and the city’s
tech talents received a grant from BingoPlus Foundation to enable more innovations in
Robotics and Programming from the youth.

Additionally, BingoPlus Foundation honored the Karolano indigenous community in Kabangkalan by allocating Php1 million to provide essential vision screenings and lenses for elders across 12 barangays. This initiative underscores the Foundation’s commitment to cultural preservation and education, offering tablets to scholarship-secured Karolano youth, ensuring they have the tools necessary for academic success.

Through BingoPlus Foundation, the Kabankalan City Indigenous People Youth Organization
will be able to provide their elders with vision screening and lenses, and support IP scholars
with tablets for use in their college education.

Healthcare access in Negros Occidental received a significant boost with a Php1.5 million grant for the Valladolid District Hospital. This funding will facilitate critical upgrades, including new hospital beds, IV stands, operating tables, and wheelchairs. Furthermore, a dedicated “PLUS Center for Accessible Healthcare” will be established to cater specifically to underserved patients, alleviating the financial burden associated with essential medical procedures.

Valladolid District Hospital, the hub of surgeries and other critical operations for indigents of
Negros Occidental, received beds, operating tables, and other medical equipment, while
select patients are extended financial support.

In the lead-up to BingoPlus Day, the Foundation also engaged in community support efforts such as the “Libre Nga Operasyon” organized by Nikki Cares Foundation, providing after-care kits for surgical patients and vitamins for optical patients. This was followed by disaster relief efforts after the Mt. Kanlaon eruption earlier in June, demonstrating the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to responding to local needs.

BingoPlus Day continues initiatives by the Foundation in Negros Occidental, which include
disaster response in the wake of the Mt. Kanlaon eruption and supporting mobilization of
various medical missions in the province.

“While we deliver programs nationwide, the Foundation always considers the unique local needs of each community,” said Andy Tsui, President of DigiPlus and Chairman of BingoPlus Foundation. “Much like the beloved MassKara Festival, we aim to serve Filipinos with a smile and make our BingoPlus Day more meaningful to Negrenses.”

DigiPlus Interactive and BingoPlus Foundation’s initiatives epitomize the spirit of community upliftment, investing in sustainable growth, and empowering individuals across Negros Occidental. The impact of these initiatives is expected to resonate in the communities for years to come, creating a brighter future for all residents.
