Celebrated Performers Set to Bring Emotional Depth to This Timeless Story

Local production powerhouses Balin Remjus Inc. and Great Media Productions, Inc. are thrilled to announce that the iconic play “Nasaan Si Hesus?” has made the leap to the big screen! Originally penned by the legendary Nestor U. Torre, with music and lyrics contributed by the talented Lourdes “Bing” Pimentel, this film promises to deliver an unforgettable experience when it hits theaters in April 2025.

The ensemble cast is a veritable who’s who of singing and acting talent, featuring the likes of Rachel Alejandro, Geneva Cruz, and Janno Gibbs, alongside esteemed veterans such as Bembol Roco and Marissa Sanchez. Not to be missed, the lineup also includes rising stars from “The Voice Kids,” like Gianni Sarita. With such a powerhouse ensemble, expect nothing short of stellar performances that will tug at your heartstrings.

“Nasaan Si Hesus?” explores the struggles faced by a community as modern pressures, temptations, and societal shifts challenge their spirituality. The narrative weaves in poignant melodies crafted by Bing Pimentel, who is not only a gifted composer but also a civic leader and driving force behind the PasaLord Prayer Movement. The film will feature 12 original songs that she composed. Her music serves as a beacon of hope, making the characters’ experiences even more relatable and heartfelt.

With an aim to inspire and enlighten viewers, the creative team behind the film has set out to deliver a message of faith and resilience. “Our purpose in making this film is to disseminate information and inspiration,” explains Mrs. Pimentel. “Salvation is near if we open our hearts and listen.” The film aims to illustrate that God is always present, providing a comforting reminder even in times of adversity.

Originally staged in the mid-2000s and revived in 2017, “Nasaan Si Hesus?” has garnered much acclaim, with over 80 productions highlighting its significance in Philippine culture. Now, under the direction of Dennis Marasigan and musical direction by TJ Ramos, the beloved story is being reimagined for a new generation—updated for the digital age while retaining its profound essence.

As filming gets underway, anticipation builds for what promises to be a poignant cinematic journey. “The movie will tackle the complexities, difficulties, and temptations faced by different individuals while exploring how they can maintain their faith in today’s world,” shares Direk Dennis.
