Puregold Channel Shines Bright: Introducing ‘Si Sol at Si Luna’

From Child Stars to Complex Characters: The Transformation of Zaijian Jaranilla and Jane Oineza

Puregold Channel is making waves once again with its latest gem, ‘Si Sol at Si Luna’, stepping boldly into the world of cinematic-scale storytelling. Building on the success of hits like ‘My Plantito’ and ‘Ang Lalaki sa Likod ng Profile’, this new series was officially launched at a glamorous press conference on May 16, held at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. This event marks a monumental shift in Puregold’s journey, solidifying its status as a formidable player in the Filipino digital entertainment arena.

In this fresh offering, we witness Zaijian Jaranilla and Jane Oineza break away from their familiar child-star images, embracing roles filled with emotional complexity and adult vulnerability. For Jaranilla, this marks a pivotal moment in his career as he delivers his most mature performance to date, featuring a strikingly intimate scene that pushes the boundaries not just for him, but for Philippine retailtainment as a whole.

But the series is more than just a display of youthful romance; it delves deep into themes of grief, longing, and the often tumultuous journey of finding connection at the right moment. The narrative centers on Sol, an aspiring film student seeking inspiration, who unexpectedly falls for Luna, an emotionally scarred character. Their bond prompts an exploration of the poignant realities of age, loss, and love that defies convention.

Ivy Hayagan-Piedad, Senior Marketing Manager for Puregold, highlights the unique undertones of ‘Si Sol at Si Luna’, stating, “At its core, the series is about love—but not the kind that comes easy. It poses challenging questions about where love can be found and what it truly means when it arrives during life’s unpredictable moments.” Luna’s narrative invites viewers to consider loving through grief, while Sol’s journey is about embracing transformation in the face of change. The real question posed is whether love can endure such complexities.

With ‘Si Sol at Si Luna’, Puregold Channel is cementing its reputation as a powerhouse in content creation, skillfully merging commercial success with creative audacity. This series bridges the gap between beautifully written narratives and the raw emotions that resonate with viewers, making meaningful connections through storytelling.

The excitement at the press conference was palpable, with Jaranilla and Oineza beaming alongside a talented supporting cast that includes Joao Constancia, Uzziel Delamide, Vaughn Piczon, Lyle Viray, Jem Manicad, Marnie Lapus, and breakout sensation Atasha Franco.

‘Si Sol at si Luna’ will drop its very first episode on the Puregold Channel on YouTube on May 31, with a new episode set to be released every Saturday thereafter.
