Your New Favorite Yaoi Is Here, and There’s a BL Café?!

Hey, BL fans! Get ready, because I have some seriously exciting news that’s going to make your week. You know how we’ve been craving more amazing stories and spaces to connect? Well, Black Ink is about to make all our dreams come true.

They’ve just announced something huge: they’re releasing their very first Yaoi manhwa translated into Taglish! I’m talking about the stories we love, now in a language that feels like home. This is a total game-changer, bringing our favorite genre closer to us than ever before. It’s a huge step for the local BL community, and I am here for it!

Get Ready to Geek Out at the BL Café!

But wait, it gets even better. To celebrate this epic launch, Black Ink is opening the doors to the first-ever BL Café! Imagine a place where you can just chill, talk about your favorite ships, and be surrounded by all things BL.

The café is having its soft launch from August 22 to 24, 2025, at The Center, 3rd Floor, JRich Corporate Center, Sto. Domingo Avenue, Quezon City. Mark your calendars, because you won’t want to miss this!

Two Titles You’ll Be Obsessed With

During the soft launch, we’ll get our first look at two of the most-anticipated manhwa titles:

  • Roses and Champagne — Story by ZIG, art by Ttung Gae
  • Cherry Blossoms After Winter — Story and illustrations by Bamwoo

While the books won’t be available for purchase just yet, there’s a special exclusive cup sleeve event on August 22 where they’ll finally reveal the cover designs and pricing. If you can’t make it, don’t worry! You can catch the whole thing live on Black Ink’s Facebook page.

And because they love us, attendees will also get free cookies and coffee, plus a chance to take photos with awesome standees, postcards, and posters. Yes, please!

The Main Event: MIBF!

After the soft launch, the real magic happens at the Manila International Book Fair (MIBF). Both titles will be officially released, and guess what? There’s going to be a book signing for Roses and Champagne with the artist, Ttung Gae, on September 13! This is a rare chance to meet one of the creators behind a story we’re all going to fall in love with.

Black Ink is really making history here, giving us a uniquely Filipino experience with these translated manhwa and a space to call our own. This is more than just a book release; it’s a celebration of art, love, and community.

So, who’s coming with me to the café? Let me know in the comments!
