A Cinematic Homecoming at Ateneo
This October, the stage is set for a momentous occasion as Ateneo de Manila University transforms into a powerful backdrop for the climactic filming of EDJOP, a film that’s capturing the hearts and minds of many. On this final day, the Loyola Heights campus will pay homage to the historic First Quarter Storm rallies of 1970, drawing us into a pivotal chapter of Philippine history.

The Legacy of Edgar Jopson: Activist and Educator
At the heart of this film is Edgar Jopson, a brave student leader whose journey is a testament to the courage it takes to stand against injustice. Starring the talented Jodi Sta. Maria and Elijah Canlas, EDJOP sheds light on the contradictions and privileges of an Ateneo education, highlighting the radical paths Jopson chose to fight for a better future.

A Healing Partnership: Stories of Resilience
Director Katski Flores beautifully articulated the meaning of this project, revealing how Ateneo was the fertile ground where Edjop nurtured his convictions. Joyette Jopson, his daughter, emphasized the significance of the campus, transformed from a place of fear to one of generosity and healing. The event aims to gather 1000 students to re-enact the FQS rallies of 1970.
As filming concludes, we are reminded that through storytelling, we can not only revisit the past but also embark on a journey of reconciliation, courage, and healing. This moment serves as a beacon of hope, reinforcing that the pursuit of justice is a story worth telling.
