The Art of Giving Back: Heart Evangelista Uses Her Brush to Bring Hope to Young Cancer and Thalassemia Patients

The style icon, artist, and entrepreneur, Heart Evangelista, recently shared her talent for painting in a truly meaningful workshop for children battling cancer and thalassemia.

At the “heArt Gap Gives Back” event, organized by GMA Network in collaboration with the Little Ark Foundation, Heart led a vibrant, live painting session that allowed these young, courageous children to tap into and showcase their creativity.

The Little Ark Foundation is dedicated to providing holistic support to children with critical illnesses like cancer and thalassemia, along with their families. Their mission is to address the medical, emotional, and spiritual needs of pediatric patients through a community built on love, faith, and hope. By raising awareness and connecting families with resources, the organization ensures that no child or family faces this challenging journey alone.

A Connection Rooted in Love

The painting session was incredibly special. The children took the opportunity to thank Heart, who has been a long-time supporter and advocate for thalassemia patients.

Heart has spoken openly about her long-standing commitment to this cause, sharing in a social media post:

“My journey with thalassemia patients started when I was 21, and they have held a special place in my life ever since.”

It is so beautiful to see her use her platform and her passion to bring joy and light into their lives. The therapeutic nature of art is powerful, and sharing that with children who need it most is the ultimate form of giving back.

The Soul’s Diary: Heart’s Artistry Unveiled

Lately, Heart has been focusing again on her identity as an artist, showcasing new works on her social media accounts. In one of her latest Instagram posts, Heart shared a painting that displays her signature style, captioning it simply:

“Feelings on display.”

This gesture immediately garnered praise from her followers.

Many believe that Heart’s new paintings reflect the many faces of vulnerability and the multitude of emotions that are felt but cannot be spoken. As one follower beautifully commented on her Instagram post:

“Power to express what words cannot. The diary of the soul…”

Heart has long showcased her talent for painting and passion for the arts.

In fact, Heart’s first solo art exhibit, titled, “I am Love Marie: The Art and Works of Love Marie Ongpauco,” was held at the Ayala Museum, Makati City back in 2014. This was followed by another exhibit in 2015 at the Chan Hampe Galleries in Singapore.

Beyond canvases, Heart’s art pieces famously include hand-painted designer handbags, clothing, and other items for both local and international clients. She even had an exhibit titled “Carry Your HeART” in Bonifacio Global City, where some of her hand-painted luxury handbags were displayed to the public for the very first time.

She once mentioned in an interview that painting is “very therapeutic for me.”

This latest move—using that therapeutic passion to bring comfort and creative joy to children facing tough battles—is the purest expression of art’s power. It’s a beautiful reminder that Heart’s influence extends far beyond the most fashionable corners of the world; it touches the hearts of those who need hope and creativity the most.
