We’ve all been there—standing in the middle of a storm, wondering where to run. Last year, the band SALA (the brilliant minds behind “Hi, Tita!”) teamed up with Wickermoss for the rock-ballad “Sa Wala,” a song that poignantly asked how we’re supposed to move on from pain.
If “Sa Wala” was the question, their brand-new single under AltG Records, “Tahanan,” is the beautiful, resounding answer.
When Love Becomes a Sanctuary
The word Tahanan (Home) usually brings to mind four walls and a roof. But for Neth Macam, Allen Lucas, Fourth Tayag, and Rigil Borromeo, home isn’t a place—it’s a person.
Vocalist Neth Macam describes the track as a resolution. “The song paints love as a home that steadies you when you feel the world is falling apart,” she shares. While their previous work explored the uncertainty of loss, “Tahanan” is about the commitment to stay. It’s about deciding to be each other’s safe space when everything else feels like it’s crumbling.

The Art of Moving as One
There is one specific lyric in this song that I haven’t been able to stop thinking about: “Tayo’y magsasayaw na apak mo magkabilaan kong mga paa.” Remember being a kid and dancing with your feet on top of your parents’ or a loved one’s feet? That’s the imagery SALA is leaning into. It’s a metaphor for synchronization. When you’re dancing like that, you have no choice but to move as one. You share the same rhythm, the same stumbles, and the same destination. It’s the ultimate picture of what a partnership should be: finding peace in the middle of the chaos.
A Sound Without Boundaries
One of the reasons I’ve kept my eye on SALA is their refusal to stay in one lane. These guys pull inspiration from everywhere—metal, ’60s classics, and old-school R&B.
Thanks to the creative freedom they’ve found with AltG Records, they’ve managed to blend these influences into a sound that is uniquely theirs. It’s authentic, it’s raw, and most importantly, it feels real. In a world of over-produced tracks, “Tahanan” feels like a conversation over coffee.
