Beyond the Screen: Miguel Tanfelix Embarks on a Soulful Journey in “Planet XP”

Kapuso Ultimate Heartthrob Miguel Tanfelix is no stranger to the call of the wild. After capturing the hearts of thousands with his courageous solo backpacking trip across South America, Miguel is channeling his passion for self-discovery into his first solo hosting stint. In the new magazine infotainment special Planet XP, he trades the scripted world of drama for immersive, real-life encounters with the great outdoors, proving that he is much more than just a face on a screen.

From scaling rugged mountains to mastering the waves through windsurfing, Miguel’s adventures are designed to showcase the raw, breathtaking beauty of the Philippines. For him, this project is deeply personal. He believes that while social media offers a window into the world, it cannot replace the profound growth that comes from firsthand experience. “You need to experience connecting with nature yourself because there is so much to learn,” he shares, emphasizing that these physical challenges serve as an emotional “recharge.”

Planet XP stands out by being more than just a travelogue; it is a platform for advocacy. Each episode features campaigns for various local communities and promotes environmental stewardship. Miguel’s involvement highlights his commitment to choosing projects that align with his values. As a member of the Be Juan Tama campaign alongside industry icons like Dingdong Dantes and Boy Abunda, he is dedicated to fostering content that promotes mental and social growth for the next generation.

Aware of his influence on the youth, Miguel feels a strong sense of responsibility to be a positive role model. By immersing himself in indigenous cultures and advocating for the planet, he hopes to inspire young Filipinos to treat both people and nature with respect. “The more kids are looking up to you, the more you want to do right by the world,” he explains. His journey in Planet XP is a testament to this mission, blending adrenaline-pumping action with a heartfelt message of conservation.

Produced in partnership with the National Council for Children’s Television (NCCT), this five-episode special is inclusive and accessible, featuring Filipino sign language interpretations and closed captioning. Fans can join Miguel’s journey every Saturday at 6:30 p.m. on GMA, right after 24 Oras Weekend. For those who miss the broadcast, full episodes are also available on the GMA Network and GMA Playground YouTube channels, ensuring that the call to adventure reaches everyone.
