A milestone moment has arrived for the local performing arts as the inaugural Puregold Teatro Panalo officially revealed its 12 finalist productions. Chosen from an impressive pool of 373 nationwide submissions, these standout scripts represent the boldest new voices in contemporary Filipino playwriting. The historic announcement at Gateway Mall’s Cinema 16 formally awarded each visionary playwright a ₱100,000 talent fee to jumpstart their creative journey.

Renowned theater stalwarts—including Festival Director Vincent A. DeJesus, Jenny Jamora, Liza Magtoto, Marlon Rivera, Atty. Nicolas Pichay, alongside screeners Dr. Layeta Bucoy and Allan Lopez—meticulously curated the lineup. Guiding the entire festival’s vision is National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Ricky Lee, ensuring each selected piece reflects top-tier dramatic craftsmanship.

The curated roster features a dynamic mix of eight straight plays and four musicals, tackling diverse themes that resonate deeply with local audiences. Finalists such as The Girl Scout Law, True to Life, The Boy Foretold By The Stars, and Ang Maayong Balita Sumala Kang Bibo Bautista showcase an extraordinary range of perspectives and storytelling forms.
